Lagos LG chair distributes palliatives to constituents

The Chairman of Bariga Local Government Area of Lagos State, Hon. Kolade David has rolled out a total of 5000 pieces of food palliatives to members of the constituents in an ongoing effort to cushion the effect of subsidy in the country.

The beneficiaries of the palliatives were drawn from every part of the community.

Before the distribution, the council had earlier distributed some eligibility cards which the constituents presented at the point of receiving their food staples.

The Council Chairman and his team at the local government were said to have gone around the community to distribute the cards to residents.

According to the administrative head of the council, Kunle Oladele, the palliatives were sufficient for everyone who was present at the distribution point.

“It was quite impressive and unprecedented as almost the whole of Bariga Communities thronged the venue of the Food Palliatives distribution, to the extent that the gate of the venue was pulled down by the people. Surprisingly, everyone who came to the venue with the card went back home with a food pack regardless of whether they knew someone in the Council or not. The first time I saw food distribution given directly to the people, regardless of who you are. The Chairman was even seen sharing eligibility cards to many people who came to the venue without cards. It is important to note here that, everyone who came to that venue went back home with a food package yet there were leftovers filling a Coaster Bus.”
