EPL: Man Utd’s Martial offered to Real Madrid

Manchester United have reportedly offered Real Madrid the chance to sign forward Anthony Martial on loan for their manager, Carlo Ancelotti.

According to Fichajes, the deal would include an option for the La Liga giants to sign Martial permanently for £12.8 million (€15 million).

Real Madrid don’t have many natural strikers other than Joselu, with Vinicius often partnering Rodrygo up front following Karim Benzema’s departure to Al-Ittihad this summer.

Martial would represent a more natural option up front for Ancelotti’s side, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will materialise before the summer transfer window closes in a few days’ time.

The Frenchman already has experience playing in LaLiga, having had a loan spell at Sevilla last year.

The 27-year-old made his first start of the season in Man United’s 3-2 victory at Old Trafford against Nottingham Forest.

Martial was previously an unused substitute against Wolves before being brought on in the closing stages against Tottenham Hotspur.

He joined the Red Devils from Monaco in 2015 and has made 300 appearances for the club, scoring 88 goals.

Martial could fall further down the pecking order in Man United manager Erik ten Hag’s choice of attackers when summer signing Rasmus Hojlund returns to full fitness.
