Group alleges S’Kaduna marginalisation

A political pressure group, the Southern Kaduna Renewed Hope Movement of Nigeria, has decried what it termed as the marginalisation of the people of the area.

The group noted that over the years, both Christians and Muslims coexisted harmoniously and blamed the sharp division in recent times on bad leadership under the All Progressives Congress-led administration in the state.

The National Coordinator of the organisation, Mr. Yusuf Kanhu, while addressing a press conference in Kaduna, on Friday, urged the state Governor, Senator Uba Sani, to appease the Southern Kaduna people by picking a member of the community to replace a former governor of the state, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, as minister.

Kanhu reiterated that the group was not out to either promote animosity or division but unity and progress.

He noted that the only way to achieve that was through equal representation, fair distribution of resources, and inclusive governance.

“We call for the equitable distribution of ministerial appointments to the South. If a Christian ministerial appointment is not viable, we propose the appointment of Dr Abdulmalik Durunguwa—an esteemed son of Southern Kaduna, a proven administrator and the former Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Agency and a dedicated member of the All Progressives Congress,” he added.
