APC chieftain hails Tinubu over appointment of ministers, warns against corruption

The South-South Zonal organising Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, has hailed President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of cabinet members, saying “President Tinubu’s move shows prioritising national interest over regional concerns.”

The PUNCH reports on Monday that Tinubu inaugurated the new ministers as members of the Federal Executive Council after swearing in 45 ministers cleared by the Senate. The inauguration was held at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja.

Agbomhere commended Tinubu while congratulating the appointment of the Women Leader of the party, Dr. Mary Alile Idele, urging her to bring her wealth of experience in philanthropic and humanitarian activism to bear on the mandate of galvanising Nigerian women to work assiduously for the realisation of the renewed hope agenda of the President Bola Tinubu led administration.

Agbomhere, while addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday described the women leader from Edo state as a resolute figure within the APC, who has exerted unwavering efforts to enhance the party’s prospects not only in the South-South Geopolitical zone but throughout Nigeria.

He expressed optimism that her appointment to the National Working Committee of the ruling party would significantly benefit the party’s cause.

“Idele is well known for her humanitarian and philanthropic activities which she has been carrying out through her reputable non-governmental organisation, which has contributed massively in the building of capacity of young girls and women,” he said.

Agbomhere further urged the cabinet ministers, particularly those appointed from the South-South to stay clear of corruption and disloyalty to both the Nigerian state and President Bola Tinubu’s vision of transforming Nigeria’s socio-economic landscape through the renewed hope agenda.

He implored them to view their appointments as a patriotic duty, focused on serving their homeland rather than self-enrichment.

“Stay clear of corruption, disloyalty and adopt strategies that would realise the aspirations of Nigerians who believe in President Tinubu’s capacity to rejuvenate and restore the nation’s fortunes,” he said.

While warning against any attempts to derail President Tinubu’s well-laid road map for a more prosperous and secure nation, Agbomhere also urged the ministers to set aside power plays and concentrate wholeheartedly on their responsibilities.
