EPL: Altay Bayindir to join Man Utd after undergoing medical

Fenerbahce goalkeeper, Altay Bayindir is set to join Manchester United this summer transfer window after undergoing a Red Devils medical ahead of a possible move.

Man United are keen to bring in a new goalkeeper to provide back-up for Andre Onana, who arrived at the club earlier this summer from Inter Milan for a £47.2m deal.

Erik ten Hag’s side allowed David de Gea leave Old Trafford on a free transfer earlier this summer with Dean Henderson and Tom Heaton currently the back-up options for Onana.

Henderson is expected to leave Man United this summer and Premier League side Crystal Palace appear to be his most likely destination after he was previously linked with Nottingham Forest.

However, according to The Athletic, Man United have done a ‘pre-medical’ on Bayindir in Greece ahead of a potential €5million move.

Bayindir has five caps for Turkey’s national team and has made 145 appearances for Fenerbahce since arriving at the club in 2019.
