World Athletics Championships: Dominant Amusan cruises into 100m semis

Tobi Amusan cruised to the semi-finals of the 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Amusan won heat five with a time of 12.48s, even having enough time to slow down towards the end.

Jamaican champion Megan Tapper was second in 12.51s.

The 26-year-old will face a stronger field in the semi-finals.

Amusan is the defending champion and record holder in the women’s 100m hurdles.

The semi-final will take place on Wednesday.

If she advances to the final as expected, the Ogun-State born athlete will compete for the gold medal again on Thursday.
