Okocha on same level as Messi, Ronaldo – Emmanuel Adebayor

Former Arsenal striker Emmanuel Adebayor has asserted that Super Eagles legend Austin Jay Jay Okocha is on the same level as Messi, Ronaldo, and Ronaldinho.

The ex-Togo international stated this with TVC on the sidelines of the novelty match organised by African football legends to celebrate the former Super Eagles captain, who recently turned 50.

“Today, people will say [Lionel] Messi. People say [Christiano] Ronaldo and Ronaldinho. I think he [Okocha] is in that league,” Adebayor said.

In a similar vein, former Everton forward Daniel Amokachi said it still perplexes him how Jay Jay Okocha never won the African Player of the Year award.

He said: “Jay Jay Okocha, he was so good they named him twice. About a month ago, I tweeted something online; I said, ‘I don’t understand how Jay Jay never won African Footballer [of the Year]. How e take happen?'”
