They called Ronaldo crazy – Neymar on why players are moving to Saudi Arabia

New Al Hilal signing, Neymar Jr, has admitted that Cristiano Ronaldo opened the way for top footballers to move to Saudi Arabia.

The 31-year-old has left European football where he played for Paris Saint-Germain for the Middle East.

Neymar’s move comes six months after Ronaldo left Manchester United for Al Nassr.

“I believe Cristiano Ronaldo started all of this and everybody called him ‘crazy’, and this and that, today you see the league more and more,” Neymar told Al-Hilal’s official channels.

Neymar will earn £137million during his two-year stint in Saudi Arabia.

Some of the other big names who have swapped Europe for the Middle East include Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, Sadio Mane, Riyad Mahrez and Jordan Henderson.
