Transfer: Guti reveals player Real Madrid will sign if Mbappe renews PSG deal

Real Madrid legend, Guti has said that Los Blancos could aim to sign Manchester City’s Erling Haaland if Kylian Mbappe chooses to renew his deal with Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe refused to activate his one-year extension clause with PSG upon the end of his contract with the French Ligue 1 champions at the end of the 2022-2023 season.

PSG were since looking to sell Mbappe, and Real Madrid seemed like his most likely destination for a move this summer.

The situation has since changed, as Mbappe has returned to PSG’s first team training from the ‘undesirables’.

The France captain now looks primed to stay at PSG this season.

There are even reports that the 24-year-old forward might pen an extension with the Parisians.

Speaking on Mbappe’s situation: Guti said (via GOAL): “I want Mbappe to play for Real Madrid. Real cannot afford the luxury of closing the door to such a player.

“But if Mbappe extends his contract with PSG, it will show that he is acting for the money. If that happens, Real Madrid will have to opt for Erling Haaland.”
