Transfer: PSG drop Mbappe for Ligue 1 clash against Lorient

Paris Saint-Germain will not include Kylian Mbappe in the squad for their Ligue 1 opener against Lorient at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, ESPN reports.

The 24-year-old has been banished from first-team training under new manager Luis Enrique, with his future up in the air.

Mbappe could now miss all PSG matches in August against Lorient, Toulouse and Lens as punishment.

The France captain has informed the French champions that he will not sign a contract extension on a deal that expires in June 2024.

Mbappe was left out of PSG’s preseason tour of Japan, with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi demanding he either agree to a new deal or accept a sale this summer.

The forward has been made to train with the “unwanted” players on their way out of PSG which include Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum and Julian Draxler.
