Ekiti community celebrates indigene’s promotion to DIG

The Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi, has congratulated Mr Abiodun Alabi, on his elevation to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police, saying the people of Ilawe Ekiti received the news with joy.

The new DIG was formally decorated by the acting Inspector General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun, in Abuja on Thursday.

Oba Alabi, in a statement by his media adviser, Chief Ajibade Olubunmi, on Sunday, said, “DIG Alabi, who is a worthy son of Ilawe Ekiti, has demonstrated impeccable character and an undiluted commitment to his chosen profession as a police officer.”

The former Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers expressed the belief that “the sky is the limit for the new DIG who has always exhibited stainless behaviour coupled with a high sense of discipline wherever he finds himself.
