EPL: Favourites to win it – Haaland’s dad predicts title winners after Arsenal beat Man City

Erling Haaland’s father, Alfie, has posted a sarcastic congratulatory message to Arsenal, after they beat Manchester City in the Community Shield on Sunday.

The Gunners won it 4-1 in the penalty shoot-out, after a deflected effort from Leandro Trossard cancelled out Cole Palmer’s goal.

Haaland endured yet another disappointing outing at Wembley and was substituted before the hour mark.

Despite his son’s poor outing, Alfie posted a tongue-in-cheek congratulatory message to Arsenal on social media in reaction to another post highlighting Haaland’s record-breaking exploits for City last season.

He wrote: “Well done Arsenal, great win. You must be favourites for the league now.”
