Ekiti APC woos aggrieved members, receives ex-Rep, others

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Paul Omotoso, on Friday received a former House of Representatives member, Bimbo Daramola, to the party amid loud ovations from members.

Omotoso, who also received over a thousand followers of Daramola’s supporters, who earlier dumped the APC with Daramola, to the party, appealed to other aggrieved members to return.

Speaking at Ire Ward II, Ire Ekiti in the Irepodun/Ifelodun Council Area of the state, the state party chairman said Ekiti APC, in line with the directive of the national headquarters and Governor Biodun Oyebanji would stop at nothing in ensuring all members who had left returned.

He said, “It is a policy of the party that all aggrieved members must be brought back. In fact, the governor is particularly concerned about that, and he has given us the marching order that every aggrieved member of this party must come back and that we must be able to mobilise those who have never been members to the party. That is the target.

“We know that his (Daramola) exit affected the development of the APC in Ekiti State. Anybody that is not happy with his return should check himself.

“Nobody can stop him. He is coming with a lot of followers. In the next few months, opposition would have depleted because of his return to APC,” the APC chair said.

Daramola, who said that his exit from the APC was ignited by one or two leaders who wanted him to leave, said that his return to the party was based on his interest in furthering the cause of people of his constituency and Ekiti State.
