Transfer: It’s fake news – Osimhen’s agent reacts to contract renewal rumours

Victor Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, has debunked reports his client will not sign a new contract at Serie A champions Napoli.

Osimhen is a man in demand following his stellar displays for Napoli last season.

The 24-year-old scored 26 goals in 32 games to help Napoli end their 33-year wait for a league title.

Napoli are keen to tie him down to a new deal amid interest from some of Europe’s top clubs.

Calenda took to Twitter on Monday to call out a report from Naples-based newspaper Il Mattino, saying: “I read in Il Mattino that ‘Calenda has no intention of renewing in the summer and that he wants to explore all avenues in the market first’. Fake news.”

Osimhen has two years remaining on his contract with Napoli.

The Partenopei are not willing to sell the Nigerian, and it will take a massive offer for them to change their mind.
