Mike Dean’s new job after stepping down as EPL referee revealed

Mike Dean will be part of the new Soccer Saturday programme on Sky Sports after he decided to step down from his position as a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) official.

The 55-year-old was only appointed to handle VAR duties at the start of last season.

But 22 of the 28 years he spent officiating top flight fixtures in England.

This new role will see Dean offer in-depth analysis and insight on the biggest decisions made up and down the country every Saturday.

It is a similar role to that of his ex-colleague Peter Walton on the newly-branded TNT Sports.

During last year’s World Cup, Dean had his own slot on beIN Sports entitled the Dean Machine which proved to be a hit.
