CIBN launches youth forum

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria has announced the launch of the maiden edition of the CIBN Generation Next Forum to attract, groom, mentor, prepare and collaborate with younger generations.

In a statement, the President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, Dr. Ken Opara, disclosed this while delivering his welcome address during a press conference in Lagos.

The statement the event was themed, ‘Industrial 5.0 banking revolution: Insights for generation next’.

Opara said that the forum aimed to provide a robust platform for stakeholders to examine the criticality of the fifth industrial revolution.

He said, “I am indeed happy to announce the forthcoming maiden edition of the CIBN Generation Next Forum. This forum aims to provide a robust platform for stakeholders to examine the criticality of the fifth industrial revolution and its profound impact on the banking and finance industry especially as it affects the young generation which has been a cardinal focus of my agenda as the 22nd president/chairman of the council of the institute.”

Opara explained that the huge population of Nigerian youths cannot be ignored as the future belongs to them.

He added that there is a need to focus on and prepare them for the future.
