Transfer: Lampard predicts Mount’s future at Man Utd

Former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard has predicted midfielder Mason Mount to become a ‘fantastic player’ for Manchester United.

Lampard coached Mount during their time together at Chelsea.

Mount completed his £55 million move to Man United earlier this month.

Speaking about Mount’s transfer move to Man United, Lampard said on The Diary of a CEO podcast, “I think it is a great signing.

“I think it is a complicated one and in the end, he’s got a year left on his contract [with Chelsea].

“What I would say about Mason is, all the things I have spoken about, you talk about modern players and how the game’s changed, he is a throwback to the attitude and the commitment, and the quality.

“So in terms of what he will bring to Manchester United, it won’t just be what Mason brings, he will bring loads of talent, but he’s just going to go [up] and [raise] levels.

“Don’t get me wrong, the bar raise is already there with Bruno Fernandes, Rashford, Casemiro… he will absolutely fit in with it.”
