Ekow Smith Asante is a Ghanaian actor, movie producer and television personality who became known for his role in the Ghallywood blockbuster movie Passion of the Soul. He is also known for roles in other movies such as Royal Battle, Wicked Intentions, and Sacred Lies.

Early Life

Born Ekow Smith Asante on April 15, 1973 in Takoradi, Ghana. He grew up in a family of four children and also from a Christian background.

He had both his primary and secondary education in Takoradi, Ghana and proceeded to the University of Ghana where he obtained a bachelors degree in Theatre Arts.

He obtained other academic qualifications which include; Diploma, Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana (2002), Event Management from Ghana Institute of Joirnalism (2005), Masters of Arts, communication studies from the University of Ghana (2013).

Career

Ekow Smith joined the Ghanaian movie industry after his tertiary education. He began to audition for roles in different movies also making few television series appearances.

He came to the limelight in 2008 for his role in the Ghanaian blockbuster movie “Passion of the Soul”.

He also starred in Nigerian movies and worked with the likes of Ramsey Noah, Mercy Johnson, Pete Edochie, Ini Edo, Genevieve Nnaji, Jim Iyke and many others.

Some of the movies he has starred in include; Royal Battle, Wicked Intentions, True Colors, Desperate Measure, Sin of the Soul, Mummy’s Daughter, Forced, Small Hours, Sacred Lies, and so on.

Ekow Smith Asante began dating his wife, Nittina Sowah in 2011 and eventually got married in August 2015. The wedding ceremony took place at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Holy Ghost Temple, Frafraha, in Accra, Ghana.
