Transfer: Rio Ferdinand names player Arsenal should sign after Rice, Timber

Former Manchester United defender, Rio Ferdinand has said Arsenal need to sign another attacking player this summer.

Speaking with TBR Football, Ferdinand warned that Mikel Arteta cannot afford to overuse Bukayo Saka in the coming season.

“I think you still need one. You can’t afford to let Saka play another full season without missing any games.

“I know he missed one or two here and there. But he played too many games last season for a young kid.

“He’s going to burn out. You need to save him a little bit,” Ferdinand said.

Arteta has already signed Kai Havertz from Chelsea to bolster his attacking options.

Arsenal are also expected to wrap up the transfers of midfielder Declan Rice and defender Jurrien Timber this week, after agreeing deals for both players with West Ham and Ajax, respectively.
