Kano gov gifts Hajj pilgrims N65m for Sallah
The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has donated N65m as Sallah gift to 6,166 Hajj pilgrims from the state.
The Chairman, Kano State Media Team for 2023 Hajj, Sanusi Tofa, disclosed this in a statement on Monday.
According to Tofa, the Director General of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabiu, announced the gesture on Monday during the post-Arafat meeting with officials at Makka, Saudi Arabia.
He said each of the 6,166 pilgrims would be given 50 Riyal, adding that the gesture was in recognition of their good behaviour in the Holy land.
He urged the pilgrims to spend the governor’s gift and their Basic Travelling Allowances judiciously, and avoid reckless spending that might hinder their return journey to the country after the exercise.
He further urged the pilgrims to keep up the good efforts of positively portraying the image of the state and the country in the Holy land.
“The pilgrims will return in batches the same way they came to the holy land on the first come, first serve basis,” Tofa quoted the Director General as saying.
