2023 WWC: Super Falcons fly out Sunday, Tinubu to attend farewell dinner

Nigeria’s Super Falcons will jet out of the country on Sunday to kick-start their preparations for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Randy Waldrum’s charges will spend 15 days in Brisbane, Australia, to perfect strategies ahead of the global soccer fiesta.

Waldrum has already listed 23 players for the competition.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s first lady, Oluremi Tinubu is expected to attend the farewell dinner put in place for the team on Saturday.

The farewell dinner will hold at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Also expected at the dinner are football stakeholders and other important dignitaries.

The Super Falcons will face Canada, Australia and the Republic of Ireland at the World Cup.

Nigeria’s opening match at the World Cup is against Olympic champions Canada, at Melbourne’s Rectangular Stadium, on July 21, before matches against co-hosts Australia and the Republic of Ireland on July 27 and July 31, respectively at the Lang Park in Brisbane.
