Katsina United boss reveals NPL promotion target

Katsina United head coach, Usman Abdallah, has reiterated the team’s desire to return to the Nigeria Premier League.

The Ikon Allah Boys were relegated from the NPL last season.

Abdallah’s side could, however, immediately return to the top-flight after securing a place in the Nigeria National League Super Eight playoffs.

Katsina United showed their readiness for the competition following a 1-0 win against Kano Pillars in their Naija Super 8 playoffs clash in Eket on Sunday.

“Winning against Kano Pillars in the Naija Zonal Super Eight playoff isn’t part of the goal of the season,” Abdallah said in a post-match interview in Eket.

“The goal is to gain promotion back to the Nigeria Premier League.

“The victory boost our confidence and also prepare the team for the Super Eight which is the target as the most important thing is to produce a good team for the playoffs.”
