Ex-ministers task FG on nation building

Former Minister of Education, Prof. Tunde Adeniran, alongside former Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Otunba Bamidele Dada, and other stakeholders, on Friday, stated that Nigeria needed critical reforms to move forward.

They, therefore, urged the Federal Government to recognise and give those few Nigerians with the intellectual and integrity capacities the necessary supports to impart their knowledge for the development and progress of Nigeria.

They spoke at the public presentation of a book titled, ‘The Unending Quest for Reform: An Intellectual Memoir’, authored by a retired Federal Permanent Secretary, Professor Tunji Olaopa, which was held at Subomi Balogun Conference Centre, University of Ibadan in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

In his remarks, Adeniran said, “Nigeria is blessed with many talents. We have very few individuals, among who Olaopa is, who have imparted knowledge, but the issue is when will Nigeria recognise them and give them the opportunity to impart their knowledge towards the development of Nigeria.”

Dada stated that, “Nigeria actually needs critical reforms to move forward. The author has made some recommendations that can generate valuable results for positive change in the country.”
