Transfer: Flying Eagles winger Sarki signs for UAE club, Al Ain

Flying Eagles winger, Haliru Sarki has joined United Arab Emirates champions, Al Ain on a long-term contract.

His club, Mahanaim FC announced the youngster’s transfer to Al Ain via their official Twitter handle.

“We have reached an agreement with a top Asian club side, @alainclub for the transfer of our player and Nigeria U20 forward, Haliru Sarki. The deal is a long-term project,” the club announced.

“We are wishing Sarki and his new club success in the coming season.”

Sarki featured prominently for the Flying Eagles side that took part in the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina last month.

The youngster was also part of the Flying Eagles side that came third at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations in Egypt in March.

He is the second player from the team to join a foreign club after goalkeeper Chijioke Aniagboso secured a move to Ukrainian side, FC Polissia Zhytomyr.
