5 Things You Should Know About The New UI Vice Chancellor

Nigeria's Premier University, the University of Ibadan has just got a new Vice Chancellor.
Prof Abel Idowu Olayinka was unveiled at a press briefing on Wednesday by top university officers [Read...]. He will be taking over from the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Pro Isaac Folorunso Adewole who is rounding off his five-year tenure in office.

* He is a Professor of Applied Geophysics, Geology Department, Faculty of Science of the University.


* He got his first degree from the University of Ibadan, second and terminal degrees from UK Universities.


* He is a Fellow, Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists; Nigerian Academy of Science; and Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society.


* He is a Certified European Geologist, European Federation of Geologists and Chartered Geologist, Geological Society of London.


* He had previously served as a Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics) of the University of Ibadan.
