Mr. Folashodun Adebisi began his professional career as a Consultant Engineer at Mek-ind Associates, where he worked from 1984 to 1989. Following that, he moved on to Inlaks Computers Limited, where he worked as a Marketing Executive from 1989 to 1990.

He joined Citibank Nigeria Limited in 1990 and served as Head of Treasury Operations until 1993. Mr. Adebisi later joined Agusto & Co. Ltd as a Supervising Consultant, where he worked from 1993 to 1996. In 1999, he moved on to MBC International Limited as Deputy General Manager, overseeing Banking Operations and Information Technology.

Continuing his career trajectory, he joined First City Monument Bank (FCMB) Limited as Vice-President, responsible for Operations & Information Technology, serving in that capacity until 2002. In 2003, he transitioned to Ecobank Nigeria Plc as an Executive Director, taking charge of Operations & Information Technology. Later in 2007, he assumed the role of Director, Information Technology and Corporate Services at Renaissance Securities Nigeria Limited.

Notably, from September 2009 to April 2012, Mr. Adebisi worked for Union Bank of Nigeria Limited as an Executive Director, overseeing Operations, Technology, and Services. He was the Managing Director/CEO of Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc from May 2012 to October 2018.

Following that, in October 2018, he was appointed as the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) Deputy Governor, Operations. He has also represented the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on the Board of FIRS (Federal Inland Revenue Service) since December 9, 2019.

On June 9, 2023, Mr. Folashodun Adebisi got appointed as the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
