Ogun gov inaugurates alumni project Tuesday

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, will on Tuesday inaugurate an ultramodern hall built and donated by some old pupils of Saint Barnabas Primary School, Okun-Owa in Odogbolu Local Government Area of the state.

The President of the school’s Old Pupils Association, Sina Ogunbambo, disclosed this in a statement on Friday. He noted that the hall was built by 14 old pupils and their friends to support the state government in its drive to give quality education to residents of the state.

He added, “Some of us made a joint effort to give back to the government and society that made us enjoy good elementary education, the foundation that has produced eminent personalities who are now movers and shakers of the society.

“The vogue is for old students of secondary schools to give back to society through philanthropic gestures but we want to change that story and begin from the cradle, the foundation.

“The brand new hall has the capacity to accommodate 500 persons comfortably and is expected to provide the pupils the opportunity of having their literary and debate activities, drama, examination, morning assembly and other social activities at their level.”

Ogunbambo added that the Executive Chairman of SUBEB in the state, Dr Femi Majekodunmi, the Chairman of Odogbolu Local Government, Shuaib Ladejobi, other top government officials, royal fathers, community leaders and members of the clergy were expected at the occasion.
