Nigerian Police Operatives Arrest Delta State-Based Suspected Gang Leader, Oyibo
A suspected notorious kidnapper, identified as John Ijeh, who is popularly known as Oyibo, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police Force, Delta State Command.
Oyibo according to sources was arrested in his residence in Ugboba, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the State by security operatives following a petition by a concerned indigene to the State Commissioner of Police.
The alleged notorious criminal who has been a nightmare and has been terrorizing the entire community met his Waterloo at 1am on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 when security operatives surrounded his residence following intelligence gathering and reports.
One of the sources told SaharaReporters that the suspect was arrested in 2013 in connection to the assassination attempt on Mr Victor Ochei, the then Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly.
How he evaded justice remains a mystery, said the community people.
A security source told SaharaReporters on Saturday that the suspect had been involved in the kidnapping of a minor at the popular market in Asaba known as "Ogbogonogo" and he was apprehended by security operatives.
"Unfortunately, he evaded justice to the amazement of every one."
Meanwhile, a community source also told SaharaReporters that the suspect who prides himself as a seasoned political assassin on different occasions had claimed to be stronger than the state police command and the law.
"Barely one week before his eventual arrest, he had threatened to assassinate the King of Ugboba community."
Meanwhile, the people demanded that the Nigerian government ensures that justice is served this time around to ensure the community is not consumed by full blown terrorism.
They insisted that the Delta State Commissioner of Police must not leave any stone unturned in this matter, warning that any attempt to release him under any pretext will be met with massive resistance by the entire community and its neighbours.
