Ani’s penalty earned a crucial point for Lobi Stars as the visitors shared the spoils against relegation threatened Dakkada at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo.

Dakkada’s second half substitute Akinlade Lanre gave his side the lead with a clinical header.

Lobi Stars stood firm to restore parity despite a strong performance from their host.

The former Rangers forward said the players showed an outstanding determination in the game.

“I really want to commend my teammates for the victory. Their determination and never say die spirit gave us this victory,” Ani stated.

“Despite the strong performance from our host, we still stood our ground to achieve something from the game.

“I’m excited that we were able to score and defend till the end. We always go with the aim of scoring many goals but we just take the point as it is,” he added.

Lobi Stars maintained top spot on the Group B table with 30 points.
