Ligue1: You can never be as big as Lionel Messi – Recondo slams PSG

Argentine sports pundit and journalist, Gaston Recondo has slammed PSG over their supporters’ actions against football great, Lionel Messi.

Recondo wants PSG to know that they would never be as big as Lionel Messi and that their fans lack cojones.

Fans of the French protested outside the club office on Wednesday and one of their demands was for Messi to leave Parc des Princes.

But before their protest, reports have gone round that the 35-year-old has already made up his mind to leave the club at the end of the season.

The 7-time Ballon d’Or winner is also serving a two-week suspension by the club after an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia.

“PSG will never be as big as Lionel Mèssi,” the Tyc Sports journalist told Goal.

He further slammed the club’s supporters (Ultras), describing them as a group of idiots for picking offence against the football icon, who according to him has sacrificed a lot for the club.

“The sanction of the trip to Saudi Arabia is a pretext. It was a trap to tell him unofficially that he could leave to end up calling him during his fight to train,” he added.

“PSG may one day win the Champions League. What it can never be is to become a footballing great, like Lionel Andres Messi, who will be for the rest of his life.”
