10th Assembly: Northern group begs Tinubu to support Jaji for Speaker

A civil society organization, Northern Youths for Good Leadership and Governance, NYGLG, has urged the president elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to consider a member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency in Zamfara State, Hon Aminu Jaji, for Speaker of the 10th Assembly.

NYGLG’s president, Comrade Labaran Abubakar, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen, on Thursday, in Abuja.

Abubakar said despite the numerous contenders that have thrown their hats into the ring from all regions, Jaji remains the most competent and possesses the diplomatic skills needed of a true democrat.

Furthermore, he said Jaji would forge friendships across tribal and religious lines, stressing that Jaji exhibits uncommon bravery, and would deliver a roadmap that would ensure a productive Assembly.

Abubakar said: “Jaji is known to be at the forefront of efforts to reform Nigeria’s electoral system and has also been a vocal advocate for the rights of his constituents. He initiated several projects aimed at improving their standard of living.

“Jaji’s candidacy for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives has been endorsed by several groups and individuals across the country. They rely on his wealth of experience, integrity, and commitment to service as some of the reasons he is the best candidate for the job.

“Jaji has also promised to work towards ensuring that the House of Representatives is more transparent, accountable, vibrant, and responsive to the needs and aspirations of Nigerians.

“Finally, Aminu Jaji’s candidacy for the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives does not only presents a viable alternative to the current leadership, he’s also the only alternative for the Northwest region.

“His vast experience, integrity, and commitment to service make him the best candidate for the job. If elected, Jaji has promised to work towards ensuring that the House of Representatives is more transparent, accountable, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians.”
