Police Arrest 44 Suspects, Recover Dangerous Weapons In Kano (Photos)

Fourty-four suspects have been rounded up by the Kano State Police Command for armed robbery, thuggery and drug trafficking in various operations conducted across Kano metropolis.

SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Command’s Public Relations Officer disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday which indicated that the feat followed an aggressive clearance operation to restore peace in the state, led by CSP Bashir Musa Gwadabe, Officer in Charge of Anti-Daba Squad.

Kiyawa added that this is with a view to ridding Kano State of all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the menace of thuggery, drug abuse, as well as other social vices.

“All the suspects from various addresses within Kano Metropolitan were arrested with dangerous weapons, illicit drugs, robbed and stolen properties.

“The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations”, he said.

To ensure a hitch-free 2023 Eid El Fitr Sallah Celebrations across the state, the State Commissioner of Police Command, Mamman Dauda, warned that anyone found in possession of any weapon during the festive periods would be arrested.

He further called on all criminals to repent or leave the State completely as they would be arrested and face the full wrath of the law.

He thanked the good people of Kano State for their continuous support, understanding, encouragement and cooperation.
