UCL: They disappeared – Frank Leboeuf blames two Chelsea players for 2-0 loss to Real Madrid

Chelsea legend, Frank Leboeuf, has blamed two players, Joao Felix and Raheem Sterling for their lacklustre performances in the Blues’ Champions League quarter-final first-leg 2-0 loss to Real Madrid on Wednesday night.

Leboeuf said that both Felix and Sterling disappeared during the encounter against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio gave the La Liga champions the victory over Frank Lampard’s side.

However, Leboeuf believes Felix and Sterling failed to make a meaningful impact on the game.

“Some players did well, but most of them switched off, I would say,” Leboeuf told ESPN.

“What happened to Joao Felix today? It was not a derby between Atletico and Real Madrid, it was Chelsea. Yet he disappeared. Sterling… I am not talking about him. He disappeared for a long time.”

Chelsea will host Real Madrid in the second-leg tie at Stamford Bridge next week.
