Europa League: Nigerian forward, Boniface nominated for two awards

Nigeria forward, Victor Boniface is in the running for the UEFA Europa League Player of the Week and Goal of the Week awards.

Boniface scored a super goal in Belgian club Royale Union Saint Gilloise 1-1 away draw against Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night.

The 22-year-old is the leading scorer in the Europa League this season with six goals.

The talented striker will battle Manchester United midfielder, Marcel Sabitzer, Juventus’ Frederico Gatti and Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kökçü for the player of the award.

The other players nominated for the Goal of the Week prize are; Florian Wirtz of Bayer Leverkusen , Feyenoord’s Mats Wieffer and Marcel Sabitzer of Manchester United.

The winner of both categories will be announced later today.
