Nigerian Movie’s Pioneer, Francis Oladele Dies At 82

The death of one of Nigeria’s greatest pioneers of the movie industry has been announced.
Francis Adetunji Oladele is said to have died today, Monday, 22nd of June, 2015 around 8am after a brief illness. Veteran film producer, Tunde Kilani announced it on twitter just now. Mr Francis was 82.


He established his film company Calpenny-Nigeria Films Limited, in 1965 and produced his first movie, Kongi’s Harvest, based on Wole Soyinka’s dramatic epic of the same title in 1970. He did a lot for our film industry. May his soul rest in peace, amen.
