Assembly lauds FG for approving Kwara’s N387bn roads

The Kwara State House of Assembly has commended the Federal Government for granting approval for the rehabilitation of four major roads under the Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme.

The roads are Kosubosu-Kaiama-Bode Saadu (130km); Bacita-Shonga-Lafiagi (83km); Eiyenkorin-Afon-Offa-Odo Ottin (49km); and Okuta-Bukuro Road, which connect to the Benin Republic (32km). These come to 294km in all.

The Federal Executive Council at it meeting on Wednesday granted approval for the rehabilitation of the roads in various parts of Kwara State at the cost of N387bn.

The Kwara lawmakers, during Thursday’s plenary, lauded the Federal Government for the initiative.

The lawmaker, representing Kaiam/Kemanji/Wajibe constituency, Abdullahi Danbaba, brought up the matter under Order VII, Rule 40 of the House Rules.

Danbaba said there was a need to commend the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Kwara State Government and BUA Group for the approval of the roads.

The Assembly, in it resolution, appreciated the Federal Government, the Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and the BUA Group for projects, which it noted would improve socio-economic activities of the people of Kwara State.

The Assembly urged the BUA Group to expedite actions and deliver the projects to specification.
