The United States Agency for International Development has said it would partner with the Lagos State Government to improve access to safe water and sanitation among citizens.
This was disclosed, according to a statement on Saturday, during a delegation meeting held with USAID representatives led by Dr Joachim Ezeji and top government officials of state with the leader of the team, the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission, Mrs Funke Adepoju.
Ezeji said, “The action plan to jumpstart the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding between the USAID and the Lagos State Government to improve access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene, services is underway.”
In her remarks, Mrs Adepoju, said, “There are core efforts ongoing to regulate the state water sector in line with global best practices and this includes the annual Lagos international water conference which convenes stakeholders to brainstorm on the strategic improvement of the water value chain.”
