Man Lands in Trouble After Sneaking Into Ex-girlfriend's Room to Steal N100,000
A 29-year-old man, Stanley Godwin, was on Monday ?docked at a Surulere Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly stealing N100,000 from his former girl friend.
The accused, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of stealing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Gabriel Ekundayo, said the accused committed the offence at No. 17, Atam Street, Empire Surulere, Lagos, sometime in March.
Ekundayo said Godwin, who was a former lover of the complainant, Favour Elijah, came to the station to report that his ex-lover knew when it was her turn to get N100,000 at the contribution group.
“The accused entered her apartment with the spare key he used to have and took the N100,000 with her Itel cell phone valued at N19,000?,’’ he said.
The ?prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 285(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs M.I. Dan-Oni, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Dan-Oni said surety must be resident within the jurisdiction of the court, gainfully employed with evidences of tax payments and address verified.
The case was adjourned till April 25 for further hearing.
