Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace future in doubt after dismal run of form

The Eagles are without a win in their last nine Premier League games and are yet to register three points in 2023.

Palace have scored just four goals in that time and sources have told 90min that chairman Steve Parish and others within the club's hierarchy are growing increasingly concerned at the prospect of being dragged into a relegation battle.

Vieira's side are currently 12th in the table but are crucially just five points above the drop zone, occupied by Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth.

90min understands that Palace view a difficult-looking run of fixtures as being key to turning things around, and Vieira is at risk of losing his job if the Eagles continue to lose games.

Aston Villa beat Palace by the odd goal last weekend and Vieira must now face former employers Manchester City and Arsenal, as well as bitter rivals Brighton & Hove Albion - who are riding high under the management of Roberto De Zerbi.

Only Leeds, Everton and Bournemouth have won fewer games than Palace this season, who finished 12th in Vieira's first campaign in charge in addition to making an FA Cup semi-final appearance.

Vieira's predecessor Roy Hodgson was at the Selhurst Park helm for just under four seasons and safely negotiated the club away from relegation danger after succeeding Frank de Boer in September 2017.

The veteran manager resigned in the summer of 2021 to be replaced by Vieira, whose previous experience as a manager was two-year stints at New York City FC and OGC Nice.
