2023 Presidential Election: APC leaders need reconciliation with Buhari

The current economic crisis facing Nigeria is a precarious one, affecting both the masses and the rich alike.

The redesigning of the naira notes at this time that Nigerians are preparing for crucial elections is ill-timed. We must understand that good policy can be made, but the time of implementation matters most, especially considering the effect on the people. On this, the masses are bearing the brunt of the policy under the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. Whatever may be the case, we must resolve this challenge fast as one large APC family.

I want to use this medium to call on the National Working Committee, the Presidential candidate of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, APC governors, lawmakers and other party leaders, to converge for an emergency meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari to discuss the way forward for the betterment of our party at this time of the elections. They must as a matter of urgency resolve their differences to avoid losing in order the forthcoming presidential election.

Currently, the naira redesign which some of our governors are opposing is not a bad policy. APC members, especially the governors are fighting against it because of the hardship it has inflicted on the masses, while the opposition parties who should be opposed to it are the ones embracing the policy and hailing Mr President, despite the untold hardship it has brought to the entire nation.

I am pleading with the entire APC family to stop this in-fighting and strategies on how to win the elections as we cannot continue to attack one another if we want to win. We should not allow the opposition to take advantage of our lapses and get into

power. We must let Mr President know that in 2015 and 2019 the opposition was there but they never supported him to be in power, so why now? They are pretenders, not contenders. Once they get into power, they will do things that they would never imagine.

In the 2015 APC primary election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar contested against him while Bola Ahmed Tinubu and others were there for him. The same thing happened in 2019 when Atiku contested against him as the presidential

candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tinubu was there for him and the entire APC family. Mr President must understand that all the achievements made by his government were a joint effort of all party members.

The so-called cabal must understand that they are in different positions in Aso Rock because APC as a family is united. It is not a must that your candidate should emerge as the party

standard bearer. In 2015, APC had so many

presidential aspirants who contested the primary election that brought President Buhari into office but in the end, APC was able to settle within them after the primary election.

I urge Ahmed Tinubu to seek an audience with Mr President to resolve any issue that could work against APC as a family.

Tinubu should try to work out things with Mr President who happens to be the father

and the leader of the party for him to give his blessings to him as our next president. It must be a collective effort with all the governors and lawmakers, we must come together and this must be done as a family for a total reconciliation. With Bola Tinubu, Nigerians will witness

APC members must retreat. to their different units, wards and local governments to

strategies on how to win the elections.

Tinubu stands for the masses, he feels what the masses are passing through because of the policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria

(CBN). The CBN and Federal Government should obey. Supreme Court order for

peace to reign.

I believe that Tinubu will do well in most of the states in. the forthcoming election but we must be united as a party.because any house divided

against itself cannot stand.
