Yoruba Nation group declares support for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu

The Yoruba Self Determination Coalition called ‘Yoruba Nation’ has declared total support for the Presidential candidate of All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu as the nation approaches the general elections.

The Yoruba Nation being the foremost group agitating for the actualization of Yoruba liberation had it representatives from all states in the Southwest, kogi and Kwara States converged on 58/60 Oduduwa Crescent, GRA Ikeja, for the sole purpose of showing their solidarity to the course.

The Director General of Tinubu/Shettima and Sanwo- Olu/ Hamzat Independent Campaign Council (ICC), Mr. Tayo Ayinde expressed his appreciation for the Yoruba Nation for finding time to stop at the campaign office.

Ayinde said Tinubu is a Nationalist who is not tribalistic, recalling that when Tinubu was the Governor of the State, he never neglected any ethnic group. “He had people from different tribes in the Lagos State cabinet.”

He noted that Tinubu is being supported across the Northern States of Nigeria because of his track records in Lagos and support for humanity.

Ayinde, added that the people of Yoruba Nation have done the right thing with the declaration.

Speaking on behalf of the Yoruba Nation, Otunba Demola Edward, explained the new direction for the Yoruba Nation, and why the group decided to endorseTinubu for President.

Edward also spoke on the capacity and competence of Tinubu, his laudable achievements in Lagos State, saying the group wanted Tinubu to replicate his positive impact at the National Level.

Abdurasak Adewale Shokoti, also affirmed that the Yoruba Nation people are ready to go the extra mile by leaving aside their agitation for Yoruba Nation and work for the emergence of Tinubu as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Mr. Kola Peregrino, the ICC Deputy Director General m, addressed the gathering as being one in thought with him. He appreciated them for the right step they took.

A GAC Member, Senator Anthony Adefuye in his goodwill message appreciated the group for their new direction by rallying support for Tinubu.

He therefore, appealed to those of the group that are in Lagos to also vote for Governor Sanwo-Olu.

Prince Jide Kosoko advised the Yoruba Nation to keep faith with Tinubu, according to him, “Tinubu presidency is truly going to address most of the issues that are being talked about among the Yoruba Nation.”

Other dignitaries at the event were: Basorun Alabi Macfoy (Vice Chairman of ICC), Prince Bayo Osiyemi (Chieftaincy and Traditional), Barr. Omolara Alakija (Director of Voters Education), Mr. Akinduro Ibesanmi (Director Office of the DG), Kenny Saint Brown (Director of Communication and Strategy), Chief Ganiyu Balogun (Media Consultant), Ayo Adewale (Director of Outdoor), Mr. Jubril Gawat (Director New Media) among others.
