The Police on Thursday arraigned a 29-year-old motorcyclist, Sunday Emmanuel of Kurudu, Abuja, in a Karu Grade 1 Area Court, FCT, for criminal breach of trust, cheating and negligent conduct.
The prosecutor, Insp. Stephen Okwu-Agbor, told the court that one Friday Michael of same address as the accused, reported the matter at the Karu Police Station on May 7.
Okwu-Agbor said that sometimes in March, the complainant entrusted his motorcycle valued at N150, 000, to the accused who was supposed to be remitting N6, 000 weekly to Michael.
He told the court that for two weeks, the accused failed to remit any money as agreed; and that the complainant later discovered that the motorcycle had been stolen.
The prosecutor said the accused also confessed to his employer that a passenger he conveyed snatched the motorcycle from him.
“I went to buy water, I forgot to remove the key from the motorcycle and before I came back the passenger I carried stole the motorcycle,’’ the accused said.
