Trippie Redd is an American rapper and songwriter who came to prominence for his mixtape “A Love Letter to You” and its lead single “Love Scars”. He is also well known for other songs like “Taking A Walk”, “Topanga”, and “Dark Knight Dummo”.

Early Life

Trippie Redd was born Michael Lamar White II, on June 18, 1999. In Canton, Ohio, United States. He grew up in Canton before he moved to Columbus, Ohio.

His parents are Tonya White, Michael Lamar White. He has a younger brother known as “Hippie Redd” and an elder brother “Dirty Redd”. Dirty Redd passed away in a car accident in 2014.

Career

Trippie Redd listening to the likes of Gucci Mane, T-Pain, Lil Wayne, the Summer Set, Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, and the Offspring. He began to rap with inspiration from the rapper Taevion Williams popularly known as Lil Tae.

He began doing music professionally in 2014 after releasing the songs “Sub-Zero” and “New Ferrari”. He moved to Atlanta, where he met rapper Lil Wop, and was offered a deal with a record label, Strainge Entertainment.

Trippie came through with his debut mixtape, A Love Letter To You, on May 26, 2017, with its lead single “Love Scars” having more than 8 million views on YouTube within a few months.

He released his second mixtape, A Love Letter to You 2, on October 6, 2017, and later followed up with a collaboration EP, Angels & Demons, alongside Lil Wop.

Redd came to the limelight for singles like “Dark Knight Dummo”, “Taking A Walk”, and “Topanga”.

He boasts of 4 albums to his credit, Life’s a Trip (2018), ! (2019), Pegasus (2020), and Trip at Knight (2021).

He had worked with the likes of Busta Rhymes, Playboi Carti, PartyNextDoor, Baauer, Kris Wu, Joji, and so on.

Trippie Redd began dating Skye Morales on January 2021.

He has also dated the likes of Coi Leray (2019), Aylek$ (2017-2018), Milan Vuitton (2017-2018), Emani 22 and Bhad Bhabie. He was also romantically linked with Teanna Trump from 2018 to 2019.
