A Spotlight On The Federal Polytechnic Nekede Micro-finance Bank

A SPOTLIGHT ON THE FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE MICRO-FINANCE BANK

When he assumed office as 8th substantive Rector, Engr. Dr. M.C. Arimanwa, promised to enthrone excellence in service delivery in all sectors of the institution.

Markedly, the Rector as a matter of policy, promised to make the FEDPONEK Micro-finance Bank “a more responsive institution.”

The promise was no lip-service one as the seasoned scholar and administrator swung to action by overhauling the management of the bank.

In addition, the Rector took other necessary leadership steps to place the bank on the path of prosperity.

Today, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Micro-Finance Bank has been repositioned from a negative outlook to a positive one. There is no more problem of muddled up bank data as there are now synchronized books of account in place.

Importantly, the share capital of the bank has grown exponentially alongside its loan portfolio. Interestingly, also, the income of the bank has been significantly grown through the introduction of multiple sources. In the meantime, there has been a significant change in the recovery process of lost facilities of the bank which has yielded a lot of results.

This has been achieved through the constant retraining and reorientation of the bank’s manpower, a feat that has further engendered efficiency in the bank’s business. It is commendable that the FPNO MFB is already expanding its infrastructural frontiers.

It has already taken over former Fidelity Bank structure on campus, and successfully reinstalled its operational system without error. In line with this, the bank’s online transaction has been fully integrated. The bank now operates on a new and conducive environment, and of course, a rebranded outlook.

Looking at a king’s mouth, says Achebe the literary sage, you would think he never suckled at his mother’s bosom. Indeed, looking at the achievements of the polytechnic microfinance bank, one would never believe that it was prior to the Rector’s administration, distressed and comatose.

According to the manager, however, Mr. James Enobong, the bank has now regained its lost integrity and is on the positive trajectory.

Taken together, it is commendable that Rector Arimanwa has through the polytechnic MFB touched the lives of staff in no small measure.

For instance, the growth of the bank signals hope in the horizon as staff and members of the polytechnic community can take bank facilities when in financial distress. Similarly, students have been saved the rigour of processing their payments elsewhere.

A recent visit by FEDPONEK GAZETTE revealed that students feel more at ease to transact business at the bank than anywhere else. This is what the Rector means when he promised to ensure the welfare of all stakeholders in the polytechnic community.
