Tinubu Looks Away During Handshake As Presidential Candidates, Others Meet

Tinubu looks away during handshake as presidential candidates, others meet in Abuja

Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in next month election, Bola Tinubu, on Friday was seen to have deliberately looked away during a handshake with vice presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, Isaac Idahosa.

The handshake incident took place at a meeting organised by the National Peace Committee (NPC) which attracted some presidential candidates and other stakeholders ahead of the election.

It was gathered that the meeting was convened by the peace committee following observed breaches in the Peace Accord signed in September 2022.

In attendance at the meeting were Tinubu, African Action Congress (AAC) candidate, Omoyele Sowore; as well as the vice presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ifeanyi Okowa Idahosa of NNPP, among others.

Also present were the Chairman of the NPC, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd); Secretary, Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Matthew Kukah, Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar III, leaders of political parties, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Nigeria Police, and civil society organisations.
