CBN Warns Commercial Bank Against ATM Dispensing Old Naira

CBN Warns Commercial Bank: The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has warned of the consequences for commercial banks storing old banknotes in their ATMs (cash dispensers), which are set to cease to be legal tender from 31 January.

On Thursday, in Lokoja, the capital of Kogi state, Dr. Rekiyat Yusuf, deputy director general of currency operations, said while raising market awareness of the redesigned naira notes, ATMs where old notes were still found were closed. Said it would impose appropriate sanctions on banks operating.
