Early Life

Endrick was born Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa on July 21, 2006, in Taguatinga, Brazil. He began to play football at the age of four where his father Douglas Sousa would post his son’s goals on YouTube and search for interest from any of the Brazilian clubs.

Endrick has always wanted to become a footballer to help out his family. His father was unemployed before he started to work as a cleaner in Palmeiras.

Career

Endrick began his football career at the youth level with Palmeiras. He was part of the 2022 Copa Sau Paulo de Futebol Junior where he scored seven goals in seven games and was voted player of the tournament by fans after leading Palmeiras to the title.

Endrick impressive performances at the tournament, caught the attention of international media and major European clubs.

He made his professional debut for the club in a 4-0 win against Coritiba, on October 6, 2022, where he became the youngest player to play for Palmeiras at the age of 16 years. He also became the second youngest goal scorer in the history of Brazil’s first division, behind Toninho de Matos, after scoring 2 goals in a 3-1 victory over Athletico Paranaense on October 25, 2022.
