Career

Wahbi Khazri began his football career at the youth level with Jeunesse Sportive Ajaccio before moving to Bastia.

He signed a four-year deal with Bordeaux on July 1, 2014. He made his debut for the club in a 1-0 win against Montpellier on August 9, 2014.

He signed a four and a half-year with Sunderland on January 30, 2016. He scored his first with a free kick in a 2-1 win over Manchestr United, on February 13, 2016.

He went on a season-long loan at Rennes on May 7, 2016. He moved to Saint-Etienne, on July 17, 2018, and later signed for the French club Montpellier, on June 27, 2022. He became the first player to wear the number 99 Jersey for the club. He scored his first goal for the club in a 5-2 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, on August 13, 2022.

Khazri represented France at the under-20 level and represented Tunisia at the under-21 level before he was called up to the Tunisian national team squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. He became the captain of the Tunisian team at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

He was called up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He scored the winning goal in a 1-0 win against France.
