Premier League reveal new date for Crystal Palace vs Manchester United

The Premier League has confirmed a new date for the top flight fixture between Crystal Palace and Manchester United.

The game was one of many that was postponed following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in September last year.

The Premier League's statement reads: "After the results of this weekend’s FA Cup third-round ties, a new date for the postponed Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester United at Selhurst Park can now be confirmed.

"The Palace v Man Utd match will take place on Wednesday 18 January, 20:00 GMT kick-off.

"The Premier League apologises for the late notice in confirming this fixture and understands supporters’ frustrations.

"While the League endeavours to give greater notice for rescheduling, the unique circumstances around these fixtures mean we were unable to."

The Red Devils reached the fourth round of the FA Cup on Friday by beating Everton, while Crystal Palace were dumped from the competition at home by Southampton.

United have another Premier League game against Leeds that needs rearranging. That Old Trafford fixture was also supposed to be played in September.

Man Utd recently confirmed the loan signing of Palace goalkeeper Jack Butland as their new deputy following the exit of Martin Dubravka back to parent club Newcastle.
