The striker joins for what is believed to be a £250,000 fee - a record for a player transferred between two WSL clubs.

Spurs confirmed the deal on Wednesday, revealing that England has signed a three-and-a-half year deal in north London.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Bethany England from Chelsea," a statement from Tottenham read.

"The experienced England international forward has signed a contract with us until June 2026 and will wear the number 19 shirt."

In a parting message, Chelsea manager Emma Hayes said: "Beth has given tremendous service to the club. She has contributed to all of our success over the past seven years and she leaves a winner and a Chelsea legend. We wish her the very best for the next stage of her career."

England leaves Chelsea after scoring 70 times in 148 games for them in all competitions, and joins up with a Spurs side who have been goal-shy this season, finding the net just 11 times in nine outings thus far.

Capped 21 times by her country, England was part of the Lionesses squad that won Euro 2022 last summer.
